Aceretech has delivered the largest post-consumer plastic recycling project in Colombia

The project began at the end of 2019, thanks to the trust of our client, who is one of the largest producers of packaging materials in their country, Colombia. Due to government policy, the producers themselves have to take charge of recycling their plastics and contribute to the circular economy, the Plastilene group began investing 15 billion pesos in the post-consumer plastic recycling plant.

The entire project has a plastic crushing, washing and drying line, a pelletizing line, and a complete water treatment set.

The manufacturing and delivery process of the entire project was not very smooth due to the Covid-19 pandemic that affected us all from the beginning of 2020, until we had a period of time stopped. Finally, thanks to the efforts of both parties, we finished production, testing and inspections within the Aceretech factory with similar materials such as greenhouse plastics, stretch film, etc. in August 2020.

The machines arrived at the end of 2020, and we began to provide services both online and locally via the after-sales center we have in Mexico.

We have faced many difficulties and waited a long time to be able to send technicians due to the pandemic and vaccines. It was not easy to learn and familiarize these plastic recycling machines for the operators themselves. Finally, we managed to train them and these recyclers reached the promised production.

The plant will process and receive about 10,000 tons of plastic that will no longer go to ecosystems and landfills and that comes from homes, businesses and industries. In addition, the plant has the capacity to transform more than 800 tons of plastic waste per month, including bags for packaging liquids and other food packaging (milk, water, sugar, grains, salt), flexible packaging for cleaning and household products (toilet paper, napkins, kitchen paper, diapers, feminine pads, soaps, etc.), waste produced in the industries where they are packaged; from the stores where the products are sold and from the homes where citizens consume them.
