During the K fair in Germany in 2019, Aceretech embarked on a collaborative journey with a Panamanian client. This client, a longstanding producer of films and bags within their nation, expressed a desire to venture into recycling to foster a circular economy.
From the outset of this recycling initiative, Aceretech has been a steadfast partner. Venturing into industrial recycling was a bold move for the client, given the limited industrial infrastructure in Panama, including the scarcity of essential resources like screws, mechanical or electrical component suppliers, and skilled machinery operators.
The collaboration culminated in Aceretech supplying a crusher, a mill, and a pelletizer for the client's new recycling facility. Technical support was dispatched from Aceretech's post-sale service center in Mexico to install the equipment and conduct nearly two weeks of comprehensive training.
As a result, the client has successfully commenced production of pellets using both post-industrial and post-consumer materials. These pellets can constitute up to 60% of their bag production material or be sold as resin in bulk to buyers in countries such as Nicaragua and Colombia. This venture not only reduces production costs but also diversifies their product line into resins, thereby expanding their market reach beyond Panama.
As the business progresses, the client faces challenges in recycling more contaminated materials, necessitating more sophisticated solutions like washing, drying, and integrating a self-cleaning filter in the pelletizer.
The company's president, Juan, shared his satisfaction with the partnership, noting the ability to operate 24/7, Monday through Saturday, producing 350-400kg of material per hour with a 100mm spindle machine. He highly recommends Aceretech for their reliable support and the profitable outcome of the investment.
